About Pburg Auto Repair Pburg Auto Repair is a community-focused, process-driven auto repair shop in Phillipsburg, NJ. We believe in honest repairs, clear communication, strong documentation, and taking care of the people who take care of our customers. Role Overview We are looking for a service writer/service advisor who can be the communication hub between our customers, technicians, and shop workflow. This person listens carefully, documents clearly, builds accurate estimates, presents recommendations professionally, and keeps vehicles moving through the shop. This is not a pressure-sales position. It is a trust-building, communication, organization, and follow-through role. Responsibilities
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and create accurate repair orders.
  • Listen to customer concerns and document them clearly in the RO.
  • Review digital vehicle inspections, technician notes, photos, videos, and recommendations.
  • Build accurate estimates and present them with clear priorities.
  • Explain what was found, why it matters, and what the recommended next step is.
  • Track vehicle status and keep customers updated throughout the day.
  • Document approvals, declines, deposits, payments, and follow-up commitments.
  • Coordinate parts, workflow, pickup timing, and customer expectations.
  • Work closely with technicians while respecting their time and workflow.
  • Support Pburg Auto standards: clear documentation, no dead vehicles, and solution-based communication. What We Are Looking For
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable using computers, texting/emailing customers, and learning shop software.
  • Automotive service advisor/service writer experience preferred, but not required for the right person.
  • Positive team attitude and respect for technicians, customers, and coworkers.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and follow a process. Compensation and Benefits

$55,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
