We are looking for an experienced Master / A-Level Automotive Technician to join our team. This is an advanced-level position for a technician with strong diagnostic knowledge and repair experience who is comfortable handling everything from complex electrical and drivability concerns to major mechanical repairs. A current ASE L1 Advanced Engine Performance Specialist certification is required for this position. What We Offer 4-day work week No weekends Hourly pay, not flat rate Health insurance — company covers 50% of the employee premium and 20% of dependent premiums Low-cost dental and vision coverage available 401(k) with 3.5% company match Paid Time Off Employee discounts on services and repairs Modern equipment and Tekmetric shop management software with digital vehicle inspections Independent, family-owned and operated work environment Established shop with more than 22 years serving our community Ongoing training and opportunities to continue developing your technical skills Responsibilities Diagnose complex drivability, electrical, engine performance, emissions, HVAC, steering, suspension, and other vehicle concerns Accurately identify the root cause of vehicle problems using proper testing and diagnostic procedures Utilize scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, wiring diagrams, technical service information, and other diagnostic equipment Interpret scan data, diagnostic trouble codes, electrical readings, waveforms, and other test results Perform high-quality repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, electrical, and powertrain systems Perform scheduled maintenance and general automotive repair as needed Complete thorough digital vehicle inspections in Tekmetric and clearly document findings and recommendations Provide Service Advisors with accurate information regarding needed repairs and maintenance Test drive vehicles when necessary to verify customer concerns and confirm completed repairs Follow manufacturer specifications and proper repair procedures Maintain productivity while ensuring work is performed accurately and to a high standard Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and fellow technicians Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Stay current with changing automotive technology and repair procedures Required Qualifications Current ASE L1 Advanced Engine Performance Specialist certification
REQUIRED
Strong automotive diagnostic knowledge and proven diagnostic ability
REQUIRED
Professional automotive repair experience at the Master / A-Technician level Advanced knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems Ability to independently diagnose complex drivability and electrical concerns Strong understanding of scan data, wiring diagrams, electrical testing, and diagnostic procedures Strong mechanical repair skills across multiple vehicle systems Ability to diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide variety of makes and models Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Own professional automotive tools Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Commitment to quality workmanship and repairing vehicles correctly Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team Additional ASE certifications are strongly preferred.
