DeHart & Son Position Overview:

H.A. DeHart & Son is seeking an experienced and dependable School Bus Road Technician to join our service team. This position requires a self-motivated individual capable of diagnosing and repairing school buses and medium-duty trucks in the field, ensuring minimal downtime for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on school buses and trucks
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and engine-related issues
• Respond to road service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate effectively with customers and service team regarding repair status
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years experience repairing school buses and/or medium-duty trucks
• Strong experience with Cummins engines preferred
• Must have own tools necessary to perform mechanical repairs
• Proficient with standard mechanical practices and diagnostic procedures
• Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred but not required)
• Ability to work independently in a road service environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with school bus systems and equipment
• CDL license is a plus
• OEM training certifications (Cummins, Thomas Built Buses, etc.

) are a plus
