In this role, you won't be working on factory assembly lines—you will be hands-on building, troubleshooting, and fabricating our rugged, custom Type 6 brush trucks. If you have a mechanical background in areas such as heavy-duty diesel trucks, custom 12V electrical systems, and high-performance fabrication, this is your lane.

Responsibilities Chassis & Mechanical Work:

Perform mechanical integration, suspension upgrades, and routine maintenance on heavy-duty commercial chassis (specifically Ram 5500 and Ford F-550 platforms). 12

V DC Electrical Systems:

Install, route, and troubleshoot complex 12V DC electrical systems, including custom emergency lighting, sirens, radios, and auxiliary power distribution.

Plumbing & Hydraulics:

Install and test specialized firefighting equipment, high-pressure water pumps, plumbing lines, valves, and tactical tank assemblies.

Quality Control & Diagnostics:

Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring every truck meets strict field-ready standards before delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications Heavy Truck Experience:

Strong background as a diesel technician or custom vehicle upfitter, with hands-on experience working on chassis and vehicular bodies. 12

V Electrical Mastery:

Exceptional proficiency in custom automotive 12V wiring, relays, switches, and troubleshooting schematic layouts (automotive or military vehicle experience is a major plus).

Fabrication Skills:

Ideallu is confident with basic metal fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, and basic welding capability.

Problem-Solving Mindset:

Ability to read custom engineering schematics and build blueprints, identifying practical build solutions on the fly.

Tool Requirements:

Must possess your own standard professional mechanic hand tools and diagnostic equipment suitable for heavy truck assembly.

Fabrication & Assembly:

Conduct light welding, metal fabrication, and precise structural assembly to mount custom bodies, utility drawers, storage compartments, and equipment.

Pay:

$18.00 - $33.00 per hour
