Basil Fredonia is seeking a skilled and motivated Transmission Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate is experienced in diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining automatic and manual transmissions while delivering exceptional workmanship and customer satisfaction. What You'll Do:
Diagnose transmission and drivability concerns using factory diagnostic equipment and repair procedures. Remove, repair, rebuild, and replace automatic and manual transmissions. Perform transmission services, fluid exchanges, clutch replacements, differential repairs, and related drivetrain repairs. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and accurately identify additional maintenance or repair needs. Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently according to manufacturer and dealership standards. Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and safety guidelines. Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair recommendations and vehicle status. Participate in ongoing manufacturer and dealership training programs. What we're looking for: Previous experience diagnosing and repairing automatic and manual transmissions. ASE Certification (A2, A3, or A7) is preferred but not required. Manufacturer certification is a plus. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and service information systems. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced shop environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs. Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
