Job Description
Castro & Sons LLC is a growing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) provider dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services throughout the Hudson Valley. We operate a fleet of wheelchair-accessible vans and transportation vehicles that require regular maintenance to ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability. (castroandsonsllc.com) We are seeking an experienced Automotive Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet. Candidates who own or operate their own garage/workshop are strongly preferred. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance on company vehicles, including: Oil changesBrake serviceTire replacement and balancingBattery replacementFluid inspectionsPreventive maintenance Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, electrical, and HVAC issues. Maintain and repair wheelchair lifts, ramps, and accessibility equipment. Conduct vehicle safety inspections and ensure DOT compliance. Respond to urgent repair needs to minimize vehicle downtime. Keep accurate maintenance and repair records. Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for the fleet. Ensure all vehicles remain safe, reliable, and road-ready. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of automotive repair experience. Experience working with commercial vans, shuttle vehicles, or transportation fleets preferred. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Valid driver's license. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. ASE Certification is a plus. Knowledge of wheelchair-accessible vehicle equipment is preferred but not required. Preferred Candidate We highly prefer candidates who own or have access to a fully equipped garage/workshop where fleet maintenance and repairs can be performed. This position is ideal for an independent mechanic or small repair shop looking for ongoing fleet maintenance work with a growing transportation company.
