Job Summary Affordable Auto & Tire is hiring a full-time Automotive Technician for our growing repair shop in Oneonta, NY. We service fleet vehicles, dealership inventory, and retail customer vehicles. Our shop handles anything from routine maintenance and general repairs to major engine and transmission repairs and replacements. The right candidate must be dependable, detail oriented, and be able to complete quality repairs efficiently. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced technician or recent automotive school graduate looking to build experience in a growing independent shop. Duties Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle concerns on fleet, dealership, and customer vehicles Perform routine maintenance, including vehicle shake downs, oil changes, fluid services, and tune-ups Complete brake repairs; including pads, rotors, calibers, brake lines, and bleeding systems Perform suspension and steering repairs; including struts, control arms, sway bars, tie rods, wheel bearings, and related components Mount, balance, and rotate tires Perform cooling-system, exhaust, and drivability repairs Assist with transmission and engine and transmission repairs or replacement, based on experience Communicate repair findings and recommended services clearly with the shop manager, uploading pictures into Tekmetric Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during all repair procedures Follow proper repair procedures and complete work accurately and efficiently Experience 2-3 years of professional automotive repair experience preferred Recent graduates from an accredited automotive school may be considered in place of experience Experience with general repairs, diagnostics, suspension, brakes, and maintenance service required Engine and Transmission repair or replacement experience is strongly preferred Must have personal set of tools sufficient to perform daily automotive repairs and tasks Valid Drivers License Required Benefits Accrued Paid Time Off Accrued Sick Time Paid Week Off for Christmas/New Years (Dates Change Yearly) $150 Monthly Tool Credit Competitive pay based on experience

$26.00 - $32.00 per hour
