Mechanic Montgomery County, OH - 3.3 Kettering, OH Job Details Full-time $47,964.80 - $60,569.60 a year 9 hours ago Benefits Wellness program Health savings account Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Position Overview Advanced level work involved in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of powered light & medium duty vehicles, including their gasoline and diesel engines, attached rolling stock and related mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronically controlled systems. Summary of Job Duties Troubleshoots, repairs or overhauls full range of systems, sub-systems, or major components on light and medium duty vehicles or equipment such as gasoline or diesel engines, supercharged or turbocharged engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection systems, ignition systems, charging and starting systems, emission control systems and related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel and other systems. Diagnoses problems and makes repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, adjusting or cleaning defective parts or components. Replaces or repairs components such as sensors, water pumps, spark plugs, brake shoes, mufflers, radiator caps, condensers, engine gaskets, belts and hoses and complete assemblies. Services air conditioning systems, flush radiators, replace antifreeze solutions, align front ends of cars and trucks. Adjusts brakes, transmission linkages, engine idle, voltage and control valves, clean or replace filters, screens, batteries, cables and clamps, services gasoline and diesel engines and their related components including heating and cooling devices. Services and repairs vehicles and rolling equipment that becomes inoperative in the field. Records parts used, repairs and maintenance work done for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Identify and obtain repair parts using Fleet Services protocols. Assists in maintaining an orderly, safe, and clean work area. (Performs Related Duties as Required) Minimum Qualifications and Requirements Valid driver 's license with an acceptable driving record. Equivalent to high school diploma. Three (3) years within the last six (6) years recent on-the-job experience and training that demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and abilities in the repair & maintenance of a variety of vehicles or automotive equipment OR ASE certification/recertification an ASE Master Automotive Technician OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements. (Other Evidences May Be Substituted) Required to provide own tools.
