Job Description
J&J Auto Wrecking is a family-owned automotive parts facility in Marshallville, Ohio . We're looking for a true gearhead — someone who lives and breathes cars — to join our team as an Automotive Parts Removal Technician . This is not a "just take parts off cars" job. We want someone who understands vehicles, can spot modifications and aftermarket work, gets excited about what's under the hood, and takes pride in carefully extracting quality parts. If you love cars and know your way around them, we want to talk. Position Summary The Automotive Parts Removal Technician carefully removes, inspects, and prepares automotive parts for inventory and resale. The ideal candidate brings genuine automotive passion, the ability to identify factory vs. modified components, and the mechanical sense to work efficiently while protecting part value and quality. Essential Responsibilities Carefully remove vehicle parts without damage, using proper techniques and the right tools for the job. Identify factory equipment versus aftermarket modifications and note anything that affects part condition or value. Inspect parts thoroughly and accurately document damage, wear, or defects. Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment (hand tools, impact tools, reciprocating saws, vehicle lifts, etc.). Move and stage parts efficiently while keeping a clean, organized, professional workspace. Follow safety procedures and work collaboratively with the team. Assist with general yard and facility tasks as needed. What We're Looking For Genuine passion for cars and automotive culture — we want gearheads who get excited about vehicles, not just someone clocking in to pull parts. Strong understanding of vehicle systems and the ability to identify modifications, aftermarket parts, and factory options. Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools, power tools, and vehicle lifts. Detail-oriented mindset — you notice things others miss and take pride in quality work. High school diploma or equivalent. Prior parts-removal or shop experience is a plus, but not required — the right attitude and car knowledge matter more. Basic computer comfort and willingness to learn our processes. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Hands-on role in a warehouse and outdoor yard setting. Expect standing, bending, lifting, and working in various weather conditions for most of the day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to work safely around vehicles, tools, and equipment. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience and skill Stable, full-time employment On-the-job training Employee parts discount A workplace where car knowledge and enthusiasm are actually valued J&J Auto Wrecking Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
