General Description Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Director, performs skilled maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of County-owned vehicles and equipment. Maintains vehicles and equipment in safe and reliable operating condition, including cars, trucks, buses, and other County-owned equipment. Responsible for maintaining accurate repair records, monitoring and maintaining necessary supplies, and safely operating and utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized shop equipment. Essential Job Functions Receives, reviews and records vehicles delivered for inspection or repair. Maintains vehicle repair records. Maintains and replenishes supplies for regular maintenance of vehicles. Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on County vehicles and equipment, including cars, trucks, buses and other County owned equipment. Performs oil changes, lubrication, brake service, tire inspection and replacement, battery testing and replacement, and other preventative maintenance activities. Has working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines and related systems. Troubleshoots and performs repairs involving diesel engines and diesel emission systems when applicable. Uses hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, hydraulic lifts, welding equipment, compressors, jacks, and other specialized shop equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly store tools, equipment, parts, and supplies. Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in vehicle repair to include light truck and buses.
• ASE Certifications preferred.
• Possess valid Ohio driver's license and good driving record. Knowledge
• Principles and practices of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Preventative maintenance procedures.
• Safe work practices pertaining to the operation of vehicles, equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Abilities
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, hydraulic lifts, welding equipment, and other mechanical equipment.
• Ability to repair and maintain vehicles and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Proficient in basic computer operations, including the ability to learn, navigate, and effectively utilize various software programs, computer systems, and technology applications.
• Drive Vehicles. Other Requirements

• Completing required training and maintaining required licenses and certifications. Mental/Physical Requirements
• Requires a considerable amount of physical activity, including extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and climbing.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Tolerate contact with or exposure to dirt, dust, noise, noxious/offensive odors, poor lighting, and heights up to 10 feet, electrical hazards, hazardous chemicals, vibrations, dampness, wetness and inclement weather conditions.
• Ability to frequently push, pull, lift and/or carry equipment, supplies and other materials weighing up to 25 lbs., and to occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry equipment, supplies and other materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to use hands and arms to reach, finger, handle, grasp and feel; climb in and out of vehicles; and operate vehicles, hand and power tools and any other equipment used to perform the essential functions of the job.
