Major League Tire Service Technician Job Description Duties are as follows but not limited to:
  • Performs brakes, suspension, tire installation, scheduled maintenance and all manner of automotive repairs and maintenance that you are qualified to perform
  • Secure front counter's approval to perform the work as a result of the diagnosis; and always maintain a clean, neat work area
  • Complete through automotive vehicle inspection on every vehicle you service and perform any repairs and maintenance
  • Test drive guest veheicles and use our shop truck in a safe manner
  • Collaborate with teammates and provide leadership to General Service Technicians
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
  • Sells lubrication, safety inspection and other related services
  • Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil
  • Replaces oil and air filters
  • Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces as necessary
  • Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed
  • Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants
  • Communicates with counter to obtain needed parts
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunction to management
  • Documents all work performed on the repair order
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies management immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
  • Keeps shop neat and clean
  • Maintains and is accountable for all shop-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management

In this energetic role, you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of automotive systems to ensure our customers' vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Your mechanical knowledge and technical proficiency will be key to delivering top-tier automotive service, whether working on gasoline engines, diesel engines, transmissions, or electrical systems. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Repair and maintain vehicles by replacing faulty parts, adjusting components, and ensuring optimal performance of powertrain, vehicle suspension system, and transmission systems. Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately to troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective repairs. Conduct wheel alignments and vehicle suspension system repairs to enhance safety and driving quality. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools efficiently to complete repairs with precision. Follow manufacturer specifications and schematics to ensure all repairs meet industry standards. Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair findings clearly to customers while providing excellent customer service. Experience Proven shop experience or equivalent service technician background demonstrating hands-on automotive repair skills. Strong familiarity with automotive diagnostics software and troubleshooting procedures. Experience working on all vehicles is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams interpretation, and ADAS calibration is highly desirable. Mechanical experience with powertrain components, vehicle transmission system repair, diesel engine repair, and vehicle maintenance is essential. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service equipment. $16.00 - $38.00 per hour
