Mechanic

Job Overview Chappell and Zimmerman Inc. is currently seeking a mechanic with a Class A or Class B CDL. Diesel experience is a plus. Interested applicants should be punctual, must have a good driving record, be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and able to lift up to 100 pounds. Duties will include maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles and concrete batching plant . There will be up to a two week training period. Six paid holidays per year, after one year of employment. Vacation time after one year of employment. Partially company paid insurance after ninety days. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, and high-voltage electrical components. Use precision measuring instruments, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions. Troubleshoot electrical systems utilizing ammeters, ohmmeters, low voltage testers, and other analysis tools to identify faults in industrial electrical circuits. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders and equipment history. Collaborate with field service teams and provide technical support for complex repairs or installations on-site or at customer locations. Adhere to safety protocols related to high voltage systems, low voltage electrical work, and industrial mechanic practices while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Qualifications Proven experience working in an industrial mechanic or maintenance role within a manufacturing facility environment. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in hydraulics, welding (including <

> welding), and HVAC/R systems. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and industrial electrical systems including high voltage applications. Hands-on experience with industrial electrician tasks such as troubleshooting electrical circuits using ammeters and ohmmeters. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately. Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex machinery issues quickly and effectively. Previous experience in field service or customer service roles is advantageous. Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking is preferred. Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective teamwork and reporting. Military background or experience in related fields such as industrial maintenance or technical sales is considered a plus.
