Job purpose Service technicians work on traditional mechanical components, such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, A/C and electrical. Technicians must be familiar with a growing number of electronic systems. Braking, transmission, steering and A/C systems, all controlled primarily by computers and electronic components. Service Technicians/Mechanics are responsible to inspect, maintain, and repair automobiles/SUV's with a high regard for accuracy. Must have your own tools. Duties and responsibilities Identify mechanical problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings Disassemble and reassemble parts Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective Qualifications Qualifications to include but not limited to: Brakes/ Front end experience preferred: Certifications are a plus Great attitude Excellent customer service skills Detailed oriented Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination. Mechanical skills Troubleshooting skills Working well with others in a group setting
