Job Description

Four days on. Three days off. Every week. PNW Automotive in Astoria is hiring an experienced auto mechanic who would rather diagnose a problem than throw parts at it. The short version Tuesday-Friday schedule Pay based on your skill and experience Medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) with match, FSA, dependent FSA PTO, paid holidays, paid training, employee discount Steady work all year Who we are We're a family-owned independent shop on the Oregon Coast. Most of what rolls in is
European:
BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Land Rover, and Jaguar. We also see a lot of Subarus, plus domestic and Asian vehicles. We are not a typical flat-rate shop. Here, mechanics get the time, the diagnostic equipment, the specialty tools, and the service information to find the actual fault and fix it once. Is this you? You have at least two years of professional experience as a mechanic or automotive technician, and you're confident in your mechanical skills. You show up, you have a valid license and a clean driving record, and you can work on your own without being a lone wolf. You're also fine with a laptop. We give you one, and you'll use it every day for digital inspections, photos, notes, and repair documentation. Thorough write-ups matter here. It's a plus if you have ASE or factory certifications, European experience, strong electrical and drivability diagnostic skills, or time with digital inspection and shop management software. Wanting to keep learning counts for a lot. A normal week You'll handle a mix of maintenance, repairs, and harder electrical and drivability diagnosis. You'll inspect each vehicle, document what you find, and explain it clearly to the service advisor. You'll test drive to confirm the repair, follow shop processes, and keep your bay clean and safe. The team We're picky about attitude. The crew here supports each other, and we don't bring in negativity. If your current shop is great but underpays, or pays fine but cuts corners, come talk to us about a long-term home. #hc267226
