This position supports all mechanical aspects of a chemical plant maintenance program under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on plant equipment, including piping, valves, pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, tanks, mixers, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, engines, piping systems, valves, mixers, chemical feed equipment, tanks, and HVAC units.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Support safe, reliable plant operations by responding to maintenance needs and completing assigned projects and repairs. Job-Specific Competencies Demonstrated knowledge of the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment used in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment, including the ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Strong welding, machining, and mechanical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to safely use tools and equipment required for the work.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and carrying materials, walking, bending, climbing, working in confined spaces, and successfully meeting respiratory protection program requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent required; maintenance-related technical training, certification, or degree preferred, along with a minimum of three years of relevant maintenance experience. Candidates may be required to complete a mechanical aptitude assessment during the interview process. General Requirements Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures, including confined space entry, lockout/tagout (LOTO), line breaking, hot work, chemical handling, and the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining positive working relationships across maintenance, operations, and technical teams.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with spreadsheets, document management software, and maintenance systems, as well as a commitment to ongoing training and skill development.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, support overtime requirements as needed, and perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education- HSD/GED required.
Welding Certification preferred.
