Job Description
Job Summary Here at Columbia Gorge Emtech, as a family owned and oporated mechanical shop, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that every vehicle leaving our service center meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse automotive systems, including diesel engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical components, in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and overhaul mechanical systems such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and powertrain components. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools effectively for repairs and installations. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical and mechanical systems efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Qualifications Required experience working in the automotive repair industry. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical repair, transmission repair, and powertrain systems. Hands-on experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) is a plus. Proficiency with schematics interpretation, vehicle maintenance procedures, and automotive electrical systems. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues swiftly. Valid certification or license as an automotive technician or mechanic; ASE certification is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
