Position Summary:
An Automotive Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cars and light trucks. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use diagnostic tools and technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and electrical systems Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment Repair or replace faulty parts and components Conduct road tests to verify repairs Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment Communicate with customers or service advisors about vehicle issues and recommended repairs Keep accurate records of work performed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical school training preferred) Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic Knowledge of vehicle systems and repair techniques Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment Strong problem-solving skills Good communication and customer service abilities Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Experience with modern diagnostic software and hybrid/electric vehicles
Work Environment:
Typically works in repair shops, dealerships, or service centers May require standing for long periods and lifting heavy parts Exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures •Pay is based off experience and skill

$20.00 - $40.00 per hour
