Weekly Promotive is hiring a Semi Trailer Technician / Mechanic for a well-established, family-owned fleet and truck repair operation in Johnston, RI . This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with experience in semi trailer repair, air brake systems, axle repairs, trailer electrical diagnostics, and preventive maintenance . This shop services a wide variety of commercial trailers and fleet equipment while maintaining a strong reputation throughout Rhode Island for quality workmanship, integrity, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, inspect, and repair semi trailers, dry van trailers, and commercial fleet equipment Perform brake inspections, brake repairs, air brake system diagnostics, and brake component replacement Diagnose and repair trailer electrical systems, including lighting circuits, wiring harnesses, connectors, ABS systems, and power distribution components Troubleshoot electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and wiring diagrams Complete axle repairs, suspension repairs, wheel-end service, and trailer undercarriage repairs Perform preventive maintenance inspections to ensure safety, reliability, and DOT compliance Conduct trailer lighting repairs, electrical testing, and component replacement Perform welding and light fabrication repairs as needed (preferred but not required) Accurately document inspections, repairs, and maintenance recommendations Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications Previous experience as a Semi Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Fleet Maintenance Technician, or related role Strong knowledge of trailer brake systems, air brake systems, suspension components, and axle assemblies Experience diagnosing and repairing trailer electrical systems, wiring harnesses, lighting systems, and ABS components Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform electrical troubleshooting Experience performing preventive maintenance inspections and trailer repairs Welding and fabrication skills are a plus Own basic hand tools required for the position Valid driver's license required Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team environment Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay up to $30/hr , based on experience Weekly pay Full-time, stable schedule Health insurance available Paid time off and paid holidays Ongoing training and development opportunities Consistent workload with established fleet partnerships Long-term career growth opportunities Why Work Here Family-owned and operated business founded on hard work, integrity, and customer service Company culture centered around "Prioritizing People Over Profits" Established relationships with commercial fleets throughout Rhode Island Modern, well-equipped facility with multiple service bays and extensive diagnostic equipment Supportive leadership team including dedicated foremen and experienced technicians Diverse workload that keeps every day interesting Stable customer base providing year-round work and job security Team-oriented environment where employees are respected and supported If you're a skilled Trailer Technician or Mechanic looking for a stable career with a company that values its people, provides consistent work, and offers opportunities for growth, we want to hear from you.
