Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine lubrication, preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic service on Contour Mining & Construction's heavy equipment, trucks, and support vehicles. This position plays an important role in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working outdoors in a construction environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
At all times, display a high degree of professionalism. Must be able to perform assigned duties in a timely and consistent manner. This position will require the technician to have and maintain a clean driving record, free of any major infractions to operate company vehicles for their daily duties as it will require the candidate to drive to various locations to perform duties at the respective job sites when not working in a shop environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Skills The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas or be willing to learn: Perform scheduled lubrication and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and other company vehicles. Grease equipment and service lubrication points according to manufacturer and company maintenance schedules. Check and maintain engine oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, and other necessary fluids. Perform routine oil and filter changes as assigned. Inspect equipment for leaks, worn components, damaged parts, and other potential maintenance issues. Identify and report mechanical problems or safety concerns to the Shop Manager or Equipment Manager. Assist mechanics with repairs and preventative maintenance as needed. Perform daily equipment inspections and document maintenance performed. Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment issues promptly. Keep service trucks, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and properly stocked. Safely operate service vehicles and equipment as required. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean and professional appearance while working on job sites. Perform other duties as assigned. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity. Be willing to work flexible hours as needed by the business. Demonstrate sound work ethic. Requirements Vehicle maintenance work experience required. Pre-employment background check, drug/alcohol screen, and physical Random Drug Screenings Clean MVR, as stated by our insurance company. No more than 3 MV in a 3 yr. period Positive attitude Paperwork completed neatly and on time. Ability to use tablet-based work orders Team Player willing to share experience and knowledge.
