Express Recycling Group is a leader in scrap metal recycling, committed to safety, reliability, and excellent service. We're looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment/Truck Mechanic to join our team and help keep our fleet running smoothly and safely.
Position Summary:
The Heavy Equipment/Truck Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel trucks, roll-off containers, trailers, loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment. Maintain service records and ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards. Operate diagnostic tools and software. Weld or fabricate parts as necessary. Communicate with supervisors and drivers to understand issues and plan repairs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a mechanic for heavy trucks and/or equipment. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. CDL preferred or ability to obtain. Welding/fabrication experience is a plus. Must have own basic tools (specialty tools provided). Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Work in outdoor conditions and non-climate-controlled environments. Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
