Job Description

Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic Travel:
Mostly Abilene, TX and surrounding areas
Pay:
$25 to $45/hr DOE About the
Role:
We are seeking an experienced Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a well-established construction and industrial services company. This is a field-based position supporting active job sites throughout the West Texas region. A company vehicle, gas card, and per diem (depending on location) are provided! Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems on heavy construction equipment Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications Conduct pre and post repair inspections to ensure equipment is safe and ready for service Accurately document all maintenance, repairs, and parts in the fleet management system Respond to field dispatch calls for equipment breakdowns and scheduled maintenance across job sites
Requirements:
5+ years of heavy equipment or fleet mechanic experience in a construction or industrial environment Proficiency diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics and technical manuals Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean MVR required Current DOT medical card required Must supply own hand tools
Preferred:
Experience with utility or T&D construction equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, and cable plows ASE or manufacturer certifications (Caterpillar, John Deere, Manitowoc, Altec, or Terex) NCCCO or relevant equipment certification Welding and fabrication skills (MIG/stick)
Pay:
$25.00 - $45.00 per hour
