This position focuses on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Class 8 Heavy trucks with an emphasis on drive systems, steering systems, air brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and component replacement. •Please note: Internal engine and transmission work is outsourced — this role centers on systems outside the engine and transmission.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 8 and below steering systems Inspect, service, and repair air brake systems (including ABS) Diagnose and repair truck air conditioning systems Troubleshoot and repair automotive electrical/wiring systems Perform parts replacement and component-level repairs Conduct safety inspections and ensure all work meets DOT and company safety standards Perform preventative maintenance and general service work Accurately document repairs and maintain service records Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Truck / Class 8 Mechanic Strong working knowledge of: Class 8 steering systems Air brake systems Truck air conditioning systems Automotive electrical systems and wiring Parts diagnosis and replacement Solid understanding of safety procedures and DOT regulations Ability to use diagnostic tools and read wiring diagrams Must provide own tools Valid driver's license (CDL a plus but not required) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

From $24.00 per hour
