Full Job Description Position Overview:
E1 Auto Care, an independent full-service repair shop in Arlington, TX, is hiring an expert-level Automotive Diagnostic Technician. We have been in business since 2017 with a team of 8-10, and we work on all makes — from maintenance to advanced diagnostics, electrical, engines, transmissions, and A/C. This role is for the technician the rest of the shop turns to when the first scan doesn't explain the problem. This is not an entry-level position and not a parts-swapping role. We need a diagnostician with at least 5 years of verifiable hands-on diagnostic experience in a professional shop or dealership service department. If your experience is limited to reading codes and replacing parts, or if you list automotive skills but have no verifiable shop employment to back them, this role is not a fit.Responsibilities:
- Diagnose driveability, check-engine, no-start, and intermittent electrical issues on all makes and models.
- Use scan tools, lab scopes, live data, and wiring diagrams (Mitchell 1 / ALLDATA) to isolate root causes.
- Communicate findings clearly to the service advisor so the customer gets an accurate estimate.
- Perform or direct the resulting repairs.
- Verify every fix with road tests and rescans before the vehicle is delivered.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable hands-on automotive diagnostic experience in a professional shop or dealership service department — required.
- Proven diagnostic ability beyond parts-swapping: confident with scan tools, scopes, live data, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong electrical and mechanical reasoning; able to explain technical findings simply.
- ASE certification is not required, but strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Must have your own tools (required).
- Able to lift approximately 50 lbs and be on your feet throughout the shift.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Valid driver's license required.
- US work authorization required.
Benefits:
- $1,000-$1,300 weekly pay, based on experience — paid weekly.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM — weekends off (Saturday & Sunday).
- Paid time off.
- Employee discounts.
- Referral program.
- Full-time role | Immediate start possible for the right candidate.
