Job Description
Fleet Mechanic Technician Job Summary:
Modern Concrete and Materials is a leading provider of ready-mix concrete and aggregate materials in the Southeast Texas market. The company operates a fleet of over 40 ready-mix trucks plus other trucks used in the course of business. We are seeking a skilled and reliable diesel mechanic to join our team and ensure the proper maintenance and repair of our fleet.Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent certification 2. Preferred of 3 years of experience in truck maintenance 3. Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills 4. Must be willing to work flexible hours, late evenings and weekends 5. Valid driver's license and safe driving record required, CDL is a plus 6. Ability to pass pre-employment and periodic background checks and drug test 7. Provide personal hand tools.Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ready mix trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks and related equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of the fleet. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities. Assist with emergency repairs as needed to minimize operational disruptions. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.Physical Requirements:
- Extensive walking on uneven surfaces
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to dust, fumes, odors
- Hand eye coordination
- Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids
- Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting
- Working repairs at night under artificial lighting
