Job Description
Oil Change / Entry-Level Automotive Technician Apollo Diesel & Automotive is looking for a motivated Oil Change / Entry-Level Automotive Technician who already has basic automotive knowledge and wants the opportunity to learn, improve their skills, and work alongside experienced automotive technicians. This is not just an oil-change position . You will perform routine maintenance while also assisting our technicians with everything from minor repairs to more involved automotive work. We are willing to teach the right person along the way, but applicants must come in with a basic understanding of vehicles, tools, and common automotive systems. Responsibilities Perform oil and filter changes Check and top off vehicle fluids Inspect tires, brakes, belts, hoses, and other basic maintenance items Perform basic vehicle inspections Assist technicians with minor and major automotive repairs Help diagnose basic vehicle problems Remove and install automotive components as directed Perform basic maintenance and repair work Maintain a clean and organized work area Properly use hand tools, power tools, lifts, jacks, and shop equipment Learn additional diagnostic and repair procedures from experienced technicians Basic Knowledge Required Applicants should have a basic working understanding of: Engine oil and lubrication systems Brakes Steering systems Suspension systems Exhaust systems Ignition systems Batteries and charging systems Cooling systems Tires and wheels Basic electrical diagnosis Basic vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting You do not have to be a master technician . We are looking for someone who understands the basics, is mechanically inclined, and is willing to learn. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Has previous automotive, mechanic, lube technician, or hands-on repair experience Has basic automotive tools and understands how to use them Can safely lift and work underneath vehicles Is dependable and shows up ready to work Pays attention to detail Takes pride in doing a job correctly Is willing to listen and learn Can follow instructions from experienced technicians Is interested in advancing beyond oil changes into automotive repair and diagnostics Has a valid driver's license A Position You Can Grow Into We want someone who is interested in developing a career in the automotive industry. This will be a hands-on teaching environment . You will have opportunities to work beside experienced technicians, learn different vehicle systems, improve your diagnostic abilities, and gradually take on more advanced repairs as your skills develop. Experience is preferred, but attitude, mechanical ability, dependability, and willingness to learn are extremely important.
