In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, basic diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on mechanical skills, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in completing quality work efficiently and safely. The technician will help ensure vehicles are properly maintained, mechanically sound, and ready for customers and daily operation. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid services, filter replacement, and lubrication services. Inspect vehicles for mechanical, safety, and maintenance issues. Perform tire services including tire installation, rotation, balancing, and repairs. Perform brake inspections, repairs, and replacements. Replace batteries, belts, hoses, bulbs, wipers, and other common wear components. Perform basic repairs involving suspension, steering, cooling systems, and exhaust systems. Assist with engine, transmission, and drivetrain repairs as needed. Diagnose basic check-engine lights and other vehicle warning lights using automotive diagnostic equipment. Perform multi-point inspections and accurately document vehicle conditions. Use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other automotive shop equipment safely and efficiently. Follow repair procedures, technical information, and manufacturer recommendations. Identify additional mechanical or maintenance issues and communicate findings to management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Complete assigned repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards. Assist with preparing vehicles for sale, delivery, or customer pickup. Work effectively with other technicians, service staff, and management in a high-volume environment. Requirements Previous automotive repair, mechanic, or lube technician experience preferred. Strong basic knowledge of automotive mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with oil changes, brakes, tires, suspension, and general vehicle maintenance. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, automotive lifts, and basic diagnostic equipment. Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify mechanical problems. Basic understanding of automotive electrical systems is a plus. Experience with dealership, independent repair shop, auction, or wholesale automotive operations is a plus. Ability to work on a variety of makes and models. Valid driver's license. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. ASE certification is a plus but not required . Preferred Skills Automotive diagnostic scanner experience. Experience with GM, Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Toyota, Honda, and other major brands. Experience with dealership or wholesale vehicle inspections. Ability to identify repair needs quickly and accurately. Basic knowledge of diesel vehicles is a plus. Experience with automotive estimating or repair-order software is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work underneath vehicles. Ability to lift and move automotive parts and equipment. Ability to safely operate automotive lifts and shop equipment.
