Job Description

Heavy Truck Service Writer Position Available in
Busy Fleet Shop Shift:
Mid Shift Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Compensation $20.00-$25.00/HR + OT Plus Quarterly incentives Ideal candidates thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and have the desire to manage their own operation. Essential Skills
  • Must have prior experience as a service writer preferably in a commercial transportation shop
  • A high level of business ethics and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.
Service Writer/ Scheduling Run weekly BIT/Opacity reports in Fusion of units upcoming/due/past due. Create spreadsheets in MS Excel of unit locations and dates due for both BIT and Opacity Utilize Fusion L/R contract to locate customer contact information for specific units, for use of notification of upcoming Preventative Maintenance Notify customers by email and/or phone, to schedule clients to bring equipment in or set up on-site appointments. Distribute work to assigned team/fleet-techs to perform on-site or in-house PM services. Assist in daily yard checks, locate, and verify units on yard are current on BIT, PM, or Opacity services. Review incoming work orders from services performed and update on fusion and/or notify client of any follow-up/major repairs needed. Issue back-up data or records to clients, should they require back up for their files. Schedule outside vendors to perform services outside our service range or hours. Arrange a sub-unit with the Rental department for leased customer units that are brought in for service or repairs. Open, process and scan all work orders for BIT's, PM's, Opacity's, and follow-ups.
