OF KILLEEN POSITION DESCRIPTION
Lube Technician Performs maintenance and repair work on vehicles and mechanical equipment serviced by the Fleet Services Division. The employee will have the responsibility of: Completing and evaluating preventive maintenance for all light duty vehicles, backhoes, refuse, trucks, excavators, loaders, dump trucks and other City owned rolling stock Draining motor oil, changing oil filters, greasing chassis fittings, inspecting brakes and tops off fluids, coolant filters/flushes Performing charging systems test and replacing batteries as needed Operating a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment Mounting, balancing, and installing tires and wheels. Adjusting tire pressure/tire rotations Providing road-call assistance to disabled equipment as needed and appropriate Entering work order updates and progress in a computer-based maintenance program; recording of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and hours worked The work environment will require the employee to: Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock As an employee with the city of Killeen some benefits are: Health insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield of TX Dental and Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement through TMRS (Optional 4579(b) Accounts) Paid Vacation and Sick Leave 13 paid holidays

High school diploma or equivalent; and One (1) year related experience; or Any equivalent combination of education and experience
