We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Heavy Duty Truck Technician to provide technical leadership in our Laredo maintenance shop. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 8 tractors and flatbed trailers while mentoring technicians and helping ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient shop operations. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, steering, and chassis components. Diagnose and repair Class 8 tractors and trailers from bumper to bumper. Conduct PM inspections and ensure repairs meet company quality standards. Troubleshoot OEM electronic systems using diagnostic software and tools. Assist with major component repairs and overhauls. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to shop technicians. Support shop productivity, safety compliance, and quality control initiatives. Maintain accurate repair records and work orders. Role Requirements Minimum 5 years of heavy-duty truck repair experience. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform complex repairs with little or no supervision. Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, drivetrains, and preventive maintenance programs. Knowledge of hydraulic and liftgate systems preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and coaching abilities. Must maintain a professional technician tool set. Valid driver's license required. CDL preferred but not required.
