Full-Time Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic & Operations Technician is a dual-role position responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment while also supporting daily grain and operational labor activities. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, safe facility operations, and continuous production flow across all entities. The position requires a hands-on individual who can seamlessly transition between mechanical work and general labor responsibilities based on operational demands. Core Responsibilities 1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines (loaders, trucks, skid steers, etc.) Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems (hoses, pumps, cylinders, valves) Perform maintenance on grain systems (bucket elevators, augers, conveyors, belts, pulleys, gearboxes) Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life Perform basic electrical troubleshooting (motors, starters, sensors, switches) Execute emergency repairs during peak operations (harvest, receiving, shipping) 2. Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Complete scheduled maintenance tasks on all equipment and systems Assist with seasonal startup and shutdown procedures Maintain detailed maintenance logs and service records Manage parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components 3. Operations & General Labor Support Assist with loading/unloading grain, materials, and equipment Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities Support production flow by assisting operations team as needed Perform general labor tasks during non-maintenance periods Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and operational at all times 4. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and operational safety standards Ensure equipment is operating safely and within regulatory guidelines 5. Team Collaboration & Operational Support Work closely with Operations Leader to prioritize repairs and maintenance Support team members to ensure daily operational goals are met Communicate equipment issues, risks, and repair timelines clearly Qualifications Required High School Diploma or equivalent Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to perform physical labor in industrial environments Ability to follow instructions and work independently Preferred Experience in agriculture, grain handling, or heavy equipment maintenance Knowledge of grain elevator systems and equipment Hydraulic and diesel engine experience Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) Physical & Working Conditions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work in outdoor and industrial environments (dust, heat, cold) Extended hours during peak seasons (harvest, high-volume periods)
