Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Automotive Service Writer to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately record their service requests. Prepare detailed auto estimates for repairs and maintenance using dealership or shop management software. Communicate clearly with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs needed, and estimated timeframes. Upsell additional services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission services to maximize customer value. Manage the flow of vehicles through the service lane efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately while maintaining proper records. Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business through excellent customer service. Skills Proven mechanical experience or background in auto service with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, shocks & struts, tire service, diesel engine repair, air brakes, and auto body repair. Experience with automotive estimating software and auto service writing is a must. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and transparency. Familiarity with automotive repair processes such as alignments, vehicle maintenance schedules, and mechanical troubleshooting. Competency in handling cash transactions accurately along with basic sales skills related to automobile sales when applicable.
