The General Service/Lube Technician performs maintenance and basic vehicle repairs, mainly focusing on vehicle inspection, lubrication and flushing tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Changing oil and other lubricants, completing flushes Administering a general service Inspection (GSI) on vehicles with documentation Conducting minor services like tire rotations, repairs, changing and balancing Replacing parts such as batteries and windshield wipers Conducting TEXAS state inspections (emissions testing) Maintaining shop cleanliness The ideal candidate has the willingness to want to learn the skills of the General Service Technician.
Possible experience may include:
a high school diploma or GED, and the candidate must either possess a valid TEXAS state inspector's license or be willing to take the test to become a state inspector. This requires a clean background to be eligible to take the test. In addition to the GS technician duties, the position we have available requires the candidate to be able to perform more advanced maintenance and repair work, typically done by a C or even B technician. Those responsibilities include but are not limited to: Brake inspection, diagnosis, repair and replacement Alignments Suspension diagnosis and repair/replacement General repairs/replacement of accessory components Leak repairs (oil, etc.) HVAC diagnosis and repair Light exhaust work Experience with all of these elements is preferred but not required. Essentially, we need what we refer to as a "GS+ tech". We will provide training and help you along as you grow. Compensation for all testing that is taken to earn a certificate or license is reimbursed. An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done are required. He or she must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer service. M-F, 8-5.
However, it may include Saturdays, depending on workload. Pay can be either hourly or flat rate/commission, depending on the candidate's preferences and shop need.
