A-LEVEL AUTOMOTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TECHNICIAN WANTED

Fifties Oil Change & Service Center - Tyler, TX We are looking for a true automotive diagnostic professional — not just a parts changer. Fifties Oil Change & Service Center is seeking a highly skilled, experienced automotive technician who can confidently diagnose and repair all makes and models of gas-powered vehicles, from routine drivability concerns to complex electrical and computer-related issues. This position is for a technician who takes pride in accurate diagnosis, efficiency, professionalism, and doing the job right the first time.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Advanced Diagnostic Ability Must be able to accurately diagnose and repair: Check engine lights / MIL concerns Engine performance issues Misfires / rough idle / no power concerns No-start / hard-start conditions Charging / starting system failures Battery drains / parasitic draw diagnosis Fuel delivery / fuel pressure issues Sensor / circuit faults CAN network communication problems Electrical shorts / opens / voltage drop diagnosis Intermittent electrical problems Module / PCM / BCM related issues HVAC and A/C performance diagnosis ABS / traction control / stability control issues Steering / suspension noise and drivability concerns Brake system diagnostics and repair Transmission drivability concerns Cooling system diagnosis / overheating issues EVAP system diagnostics Emissions-related concerns Noise / vibration / harshness (NVH) diagnosis Mechanical engine diagnostics Compression / leak-down testing Timing / cam / crank correlation diagnosis Tool & Equipment Proficiency Must be comfortable using: Professional scan tools Live data interpretation Bi-directional controls Digital multimeter Wiring diagrams Service information systems Voltage drop testing Current draw analysis Pressure testing equipment Smoke machines Oscilloscope / lab scope experience strongly preferred Professional Expectations We want someone who: ✔ Diagnoses instead of guessing ✔ Does not rely on throwing parts at problems ✔ Understands root-cause troubleshooting ✔ Can clearly communicate findings and repair needs ✔ Works efficiently without sacrificing quality ✔ Takes ownership of repairs ✔ Maintains a clean and organized workspace ✔ Treats customers and coworkers with respect ✔ Shows up consistently and professionally ✔ Takes pride in quality workmanship Experience Preferred 7+ years automotive repair experience preferred ASE certifications are a plus, but real-world diagnostic ability matters more Dealership or strong independent shop experience preferred About Us At Fifties Oil Change & Service Center, we believe in old-fashioned professional customer service, honest repairs, and doing what's right for the customer.
