Lynns Road Service is looking for an experienced, dependable mechanic to join our team. We work on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, including automotive, light-duty diesel, heavy-duty diesel, trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles. Experience with both gas and diesel is a major plus. How the Position Works This position works directly under our Shop Foreman. Our foreman handles the majority of the advanced diagnostic work, determines the repair direction, and assigns the job to the mechanic. Once repairs are completed, the foreman performs the final review and signs off on the repair. We are looking for a mechanic who can take an assigned repair and confidently carry it through to completion without needing constant supervision. While you do not need to be a master diagnostician, a solid basic understanding of diagnostics is important. You should be able to perform basic testing, understand scan data and diagnostic information, verify repairs, and recognize when something needs to be brought back to the foremans attention. Responsibilities Perform automotive and diesel mechanical repairs Follow repair plans and diagnostic direction provided by the Shop Foreman Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostic testing when necessary Accurately identify additional problems found during repairs Communicate with the foreman when repairs differ from the original diagnosis or scope Complete repairs correctly and efficiently Verify your work before submitting the vehicle for final inspection Maintain a clean and organized work area Properly document repairs performed Follow shop procedures and safety standards Take pride in producing quality work What Were Looking For Previous professional mechanic experience Strong mechanical ability Ability to complete repairs independently once given direction Basic understanding of automotive diagnostics Experience with gas engines Diesel experience strongly preferred Experience with both gas and diesel is a major advantage Electrical diagnostic experience is a plus Dependable and able to show up consistently Good communication with the foreman and other team members Willingness to ask questions rather than guess Someone who cares about doing the repair correctly the first time This Position May Be a
