Job Description

Belden Construction LLC is a 50-year old family owned and family operated construction company. We are a multi-faceted general contractor specializing in excavation, water/sewer mains, roads, bridges, utilities and commercial buildings. We are big enough to handle large projects but small enough where you are not just another number. We are hiring for a Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic to maintain our growing and diverse fleet. Our fleet includes excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, rollers, cranes, dump trucks, 1-tons, pickups, tractors, trailers, and numerous small engines and specialty tools. Excellent compensation packages available and are based upon experience. Federal wage rates apply to a large portion of our projects as well as numerous opportunities for overtime. Modern and extremely well maintained truck and heavy equipment fleet. All local work, no overnights and all projects within driving distance of Rutland with transportation provided. Candidates must be motivated hard workers willing to be part of a teamwork atmosphere in a fast paced environment : Able to lift heavy objects Pass a pre-employment drug screening Comply with all company, federal and state safety standards and practices Experience working near and around heavy equipment Valid drivers license with clean driving record Belden Construction LLC is an equal opportunity employer. Duties to include but not be limited to:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including automotive vehicles, heavy machinery, heavy trucks and power tools.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to determine the root cause of equipment malfunctions.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and ensure equipment is in proper working order.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Operate heavy equipment to transport and position machinery as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
Skills:
  • Strong automotive repair skills with a solid mechanical knowledge base.
  • Proficient in using various tools and equipment commonly found in a mechanic's shop.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to diagnose and repair electrical issues.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred but not required.
