Automotive Technician/Mechanic Sterling Automotive Service Edgewood, WA Job Details Full-time $30 - $40 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications ASE Certification ASE A8 Engine Performance Certification Mechanic experience Driving Automotive diagnostics Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description We are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. An excellent auto mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must be good communicators to provide advice to service writer. Looking for hourly or flat rate position. Responsibilities Address customer concerns listed on work order. Diagnose concerns using correct/complete procedures Provide notes on back of work order of diagnostic procedure and end result. Keep work area clean and organized. Test drive all jobs before and after if possible. Report any additional work needed on work order so service advisor can sell and or reschedule. To be well versed with all data and identifix. Work 8:00 to 5:00 Monday thru Friday. Work as team player. One team on direction. Own and maintain a professional level tool box as well as sufficient tool inventory to perform. Must have clean driving record. Skills Proven experience as auto mechanic Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods Ability to handle necessary hand tools and various everyday shop equipment and heavy equipment (e.g. lift) Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc. Excellent physical condition High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus Make good logical decisions while solving problems.
