Our Lakewood location is a Ford QVM automotive "up-fitter" and maintenance facility dedicated to serving police and fire fleets. We are seeking an experienced General Mechanic with diagnostic/electrical skills (to include
OBD1/OBD2/CAN
diagnostic tools) to join our team! Responsibilities include general repairs, brakes, tires, suspension and technical systems on all make/models of police fleet vehicles/fire trucks, command rigs and ambulances. 12V Electrical experience is a plus as all vehicles will have after-market equipment/ lighting installed. Mechanics do light repair work for emergency lighting such as light head replacement, speaker replacement, post collision replacement to push bumpers and equipment removal.
Responsibilities:
Provide general vehicle repairs (brakes, tires, suspension and technical systems, etc.) Provide 12V electrical such as light head replacement, speaker replacement, post collision replacement to push bumpers and equipment removal Troubleshoot and interpret manufacturers drawings Diagnose using diagnostic equipment
  • EVT certification will be required within 12 months of hire (we will help with prep)
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be able to read manufacturer's drawings and manuals Must have basic computer and internet literacy Knowledgeable and experienced operating hand, power, and shop tools Keep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.) Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles Use computer diagnostic equipment Must have own tools Must respect and work positively with first responders and law enforcement Must be detail oriented with strong work ethic Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in/around vehicles
Preferred:
ASE Certification Experience with 12V electrical systems
Compensation and Benefits:
$23
