1 Trailer Mechanic Join Our Team! We are seeking a dependable and motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of trailer maintenance experience , possess basic hand tools, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Pay:
$32-$40/hour Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on trailers and related equipment. Diagnose and repair air brake systems, suspensions, wheel ends, hubs, bearings, and axles. Repair or replace trailer decking, landing gear, and structural components. Troubleshoot and repair trailer lighting, wiring, ABS systems, and electrical components. Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers comply with all federal and state regulations. Inspect and service tires, wheels, and rims. Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems. Service and maintain pony motors. Complete work orders accurately and maintain maintenance records. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Respond to emergency roadside and yard repair situations as needed. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Assist other mechanics and support shop operations as necessary. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of trailer mechanic experience preferred. Knowledge of trailer brake systems, suspensions, electrical systems, and DOT requirements. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Must provide basic hand tools. Forklift experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools.
