Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic with experience troubleshooting and repairing all types of equipment including heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. Responsibilities and Duties To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Working knowledge of all transmission types, braking systems, hydraulics, and vehicle suspensions Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Completes fleet maintenance repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment. Washes vehicles and equipment. Conducts safety checks on vehicles. Assists with service calls for breakdowns. Performs other maintenance related work as required. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards. Experience with welding and metal fabrication preferred
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred Ability to operate, maintain, and clean equipment Ability to work with others to coordinate work Work in a safe and efficient manner Must be punctual and dependable Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic Valid and current CDL Ability to weld and use an oxyacetalene cutting torch Be capable of operating computerized diagnostic equipment Determine machine or vehicle condition through inspections and tests; identify damaged, worn, and broken parts and correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, and replacing as necessary. Keeps shop/repair equipment operating by following operating instructions; maintain supplies as needed; perform preventative maintenance. Contain costs by using warranties where available and by evaluating service and parts options.
