Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tractor Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, particularly with trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. We also specialize in transport refrigeration (Reefer units). This role requires expertise in various mechanical systems, including hydraulics, HVAC, and electrical systems, as well as the ability to work with hand tools and perform welding tasks. The Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all trailers are in optimal working condition, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, reefer units, and trailers, including brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and hydraulic components. Diagnose mechanical and engine issues using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure accurate repairs. Utilize hand tools and welding equipment to perform necessary repairs and modifications. Conduct inspections of trucks, Refrigeration units, and trailers to identify potential issues before they become serious problems. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on each Job completed. Collaborate with other mechanics and service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs. Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician, preferably with a focus on Trucks, Refrigeration units, trailers or heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, air brake systems, and electrical components related to tractor trailer and transport refrigeration operation. Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools effectively. Familiarity with Carrier Transicold or Thermo King equipment is a plus but not required. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. 608 or 609 refrigerant license is Highly preferred for the applicant to have Join our team as a Trailer Mechanic where your skills will contribute significantly to our operations' success!
