Hiring Timeline:
Immediate - we are looking to hire as soon as possible. Dorm's Automotive and Marine is a full-service shop specializing in both automotive and marine repair. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an experienced Master Mechanic to serve as the technical leader in our shop. Position Summary As Master Mechanic, you will lead complex diagnostics and repairs across automotive and marine vehicles, mentor technicians, and uphold the highest standards of safety and craftsmanship. The best applicant would be skilled as a master mechanic and in customer service skills. Key Responsibilities Ability to perform advanced diagnostics on cars and trucks using the latest tools and resources. Oversee and execute major repairs on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and other components. Mentor and supervise junior technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting and repair best practices. Maintain detailed repair records and communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, and customers. Ensure shop safety protocols, organization, and efficiency standards are consistently met. Qualifications & Requirements Significant experience as a mechanic with proven leadership or mentoring skills (Master Mechanic or equivalent background preferred). Strong diagnostic expertise — ability to efficiently identify and resolve complex issues. ASE Master Certification or equivalent manufacturer training strongly preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Physical ability to handle automotive repair-related tasks in a fast-paced environment. Marine experience (outboard/inboard engines, boat systems, etc.) is a significant bonus. No marine experience needed, but must have a willingness to work towards that.
