Technicians and gain ALANG membership, all current federal employees, all U.S. Citizens Duties Help 1. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integred systems. Completes operional checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) which are linked with integred systems and LRUs which are independent or associed with nonintegred systems. Isoles unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schemics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment including automic test equipment and Flight Line Test Systems (FLTS). Solves complex problems by analyzing installion, circuitry, and opering characteristics of the systems. Adjusts and aligns system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuors, servos, computers and other reled components. Installs serviceable components into aircraft and performs total systems alignment and harmonizion in accordance with existing technical orders and directives. Accomplishes technical order compliances, modificion of components/systems and completes thorough system checks for proper operion. Maintains, modifies, calibres and inspects a wide variety of user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, aligns, and calibres complete electronic avionics multi-systems control, Demonstres a thorough working knowledge of complex aircraft avionics and or ECM systems such as the electronics package in a highly automed aircraft where the integred flight and Integred Counter-measures System, electronic multiplex communicions bus, Inertial Navigion System, multi-function displays, head-up display, da transfer equipment, Global Positioning System, Situion Awareness Da-Link (SADL), , Da Modem, Flight Control System, pitot-stic system and reled instrumention, flight director instrumention, Central Air Da Computer, engine, hydraulic and fuel quantity indicing systems, voice message warning, Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Sellite Communicions (SATCOM) Da, intercom, secure voice communicions, Identificion Friend or Foe (IFF), Tactical Air Navigion System (TACAN), Evalues operional characteristics of the integred systems by observing and analyzing waveforms, voltage, current, power indicions, computer registers and printouts. Analyzes the malfunctions encountered through fault codes, determines repair sequence process and performs the repairs. (25%) 2. Reviews and analyzes maintenance da; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adeque test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or da corrections. Aligns, adjusts, and performs final calibrions on integred systems to determine successful repairs. Analyzes equipment failure and malfunctions and suggests changes to improve operion. (20%) 3. Troubleshoots operional malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief da, Technical Orders, schemic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, da analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Performs on and off-equipment maintenance on aircraft avionics such as automic flight control systems, instrument systems, communicion and navigion systems, and inertial navigions systems. (20%) 4. Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical da, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, inities merial deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical da, and assists in design changes as necessary. Documents all discrepancies and maintenance actions performed by inputting informion into the electronic records informion systems (i.e.:
CAMS, IMDS, GO-81, REMIS
). (15%) 5. May upload/download chaff/flare dispensers. This hazardous task may involve the inspection, storage and handling of explosive devices; to include flares, chaff, impulse cartridges and similar items. Prepares for and participes in Aerospace Expeditionary Force (AEF) tasking, deployments and various inspections and exercises. (10%) 6. May be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire-fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, serve as a security guard, remove snow, load and handle munitions, launch/recover and service aircraft, opere heavy equipment, maintain facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulions. (10%) Performs other duties as assigned.

: To qualify an applicant for one of the FWS Series 2610 ANG Dual Stus Technician positions, apply and evalue the applicant's competencies, military and civilian experiences, completed educion, learned skills, obtained knowledge, endorsed abilities, and training program accomplishments. The following seven basic qualificion factors are applicable to the FWS ANG Dual Stus Technician positions:

  • Skilled in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
This position is a journeyman skill level designed as a developmental opportunity to qualify for merit promotion to the dual stus technician PD# D2324000, Electronic Integred Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13 (Back Shop) craftsman expertise. Must have least a three-skill level in one of the compible AFSCs, with 12 months of work experiences, th involved duties such as, inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying software controlled automed and manually controlled test stions, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment and associed subsystems. Knowledgeable of stions th are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable units and pods. Skilled in analyzing performance, running tests, conducting inspections, troubleshooting, identifying and isoling malfunctions, disassembling, modifying or repairing and reassembling the test stions or electronic circuit maintenance pods and their associed peripherals. Skilled in reading the complex inter-reled variables th resulted from a mix of computer hardware and software, stimulus and measurement systems, and special purpose test subsystems. Experiences involved analyzing malfunctions using schemics, logic and wiring diagrams, programming tables, computer program flow charts, software user guides, computer program listings and factory drawings. Skilled in diagnosing circuit opering characteristics using computer query, system peculiar test equipment, and computer diagnostics. Experienced in isoling problems to the failing part using equipment such as, self-test diagnostics, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, signal generors, digital, and differential voltmeters, computer registers and printouts and other special and standard tools and test equipment. Competent in removing and replacing components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, or parts using special and common hand tools, soldering devices and special electronic instruments. Experiences involved modifying and upding avionics pods; or, support equipment and support software according to applicable technical publicions. Competent to analyze program da and determined if the criteria are sufficient to provide adeque testing and troubleshooting. Skilled in examining recurring malfunctions and software deficiencies and determined testing voids and initied corrective action by submitting quality deficiency reports, software deficiency reports, or proposed modificions. Experiences included connecting associed testing equipment to interface the test stion system to the aircraft system and pod; facilited maintenance and repair of pod or line replaceable units from the avionics systems such as radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial FWS navigion, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems. Competent in determining if failures are caused by the unit under test. Skilled to identify a malfunction and isoled it to the specific component(s). Skilled in the task of disassembling and repairing or replacing solid ste devices, micro miniure modules, gyros, sensors, transducers, and any other required parts; followed by the reassembly and performed operional tests. Experiences may have included the identificion of test program malfunctions and informing engineers and/or Air Force Logistics Command of the problems. Experienced in the development and/or modificion of software, interfaces, extender equipment, or additional items of test equipment or completed work in validing technical da concerning the repair, maintenance, and test of the test stion and units under test. Competent in processing and accounting for due-in-from-maintenance supply assets. Skilled in documenting maintenance repair actions and man-hour accounting on maintenance forms and computer systems. Skilled in maintaining historical da of repaired components and of the test stions. Skilled in complying with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulions. Experienced in the procedures involved with the proper storage, protection, and maintenance of all work-reled merial and equipment.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Complete working knowledge of the interaction of the avionics package on the aircraft.
  • Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the electronics systems to identify, isole and repair malfunctions on the aircraft.
  • Ability to use precision test equipment, test program informion, technical da, schemic, signal and da flow diagrams and test procedures as well as mhemical formulas.
  • Demonstres an extensive practical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumic principles as well as pressurizion.
  • Working knowledge of the Technical Order system and other technical publicions and directives reling to the section.
