Job Title:
Avionics Technician Job Description The Avionics Technician operates, tests, modifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and inspects avionics and electrical systems on aircraft while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements. This role performs functional and operational checkouts of complex electrical and avionics systems, interprets detailed wiring diagrams and schematics, and uses specialized test equipment to ensure all systems perform reliably and safely before aircraft flight. The technician works within defined man-hour budgets and schedules, maintaining high quality standards in a climate-controlled hangar environment. Responsibilities Operate, test, modify, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect all avionics and electrical systems on the aircraft. Interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, test, and repair avionics and electrical systems. Conduct wire-by-wire inspections and perform power, functional, and operational checkouts of electrical and avionics systems prior to aircraft flight. Set up and use required electrical and electronic test equipment in accordance with technical data and complete appropriate functional tests. Connect air data test sets to appropriate aircraft fixtures and complete full functional checkouts of the entire pitot/static air data system. Troubleshoot and correct discrepant avionics and electrical systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs. Perform soldering applications in various positions to support installation, repair, and modification of wiring and components. Essential Skills Hands-on experience operating, testing, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Proficiency in interpreting and following complex wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Demonstrated ability to perform wire-by-wire, power, functional, and operational checkouts of electrical and avionics systems prior to flight. Experience setting up and using electrical and electronic test equipment in compliance with technical data to perform functional tests. Ability to connect and operate air data test sets and complete full functional checkouts of pitot/static air data systems. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and correct discrepant avionics and electrical systems. Pay $25/hr-$33/hr Shift The primary schedule is on second shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with additional hours or schedule adjustments possible as business needs evolve. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Rock, AR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
