Job Description
Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Under minimal supervision performs assignments of support and service of avionics, avionics systems or computer equipment and systems.
Duties:
Designs, updates designs, and documents articles as required, such as for obsolescence mitigation.
Assists Technical Publications personnel in the generation of documentation, as required, to support Otto Instruments products including, but not limited to: System descriptions and operating procedures, Test specifications and reports, Operating Manual, User's Guide and Component and Aircraft Maintenance Manual modifications and Service Bulletins. Provides technical information to customers and access to Otto Instruments technical documents as required.
Participates in avionics integration bench (Hot Bench) tests, and identifies and manages emerging quality issues.
Troubleshoots avionic systems to the LRU level and determine if the LRU is functioning per the design specification or if the issue being reported is due to LRU part failure, software bug, flight crew procedures or maintenance staff procedures.
Coordinates, assists or provides on-site training for Otto Instruments products and systems to internal and customer personnel. Expedites hardware when up against critical time constraints.
Improves supplier quality performance by working with functions (e.g., MC, Engineering, Regulatory) to identify key process/product drivers, then developing and helping implement sustainable improvement plans.
Drives effective Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) resolution through immediate containment and sustainable corrective actions that are measurable.
Drives the development of PFMEAs, and implementation of statistical process controls, for products and processes, as required. Leads or assists cross functional and cross regional teams in Root Cause Corrective Actions and Preventive and Quality Improvement activities.
Ensures compliance to standard definitions for key customer data measurements of customer quality.
Facilitates the flow down of customer, quality, contractual and regulatory requirements internally and in the Otto supply chain.
Participates in the purge and MRB processes, and manages supplier disclosures and recalls.
Supports internal and external customer and regulatory agency audits.
Supports departmental and Company objectives. Research files/documentation and gather data and provide reports as required.
Establishes and maintains engineering files and records.
