Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Aviation Maintenance Instructor to inspire and educate the next generation of aircraft maintenance professionals. In this role, you will deliver engaging classroom instruction and hands-on training, ensuring students acquire the technical skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the aviation industry. Your expertise will help shape competent, safety-conscious technicians ready to meet the demands of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations. Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive curricula covering aircraft maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and related topics aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct classroom lectures, practical demonstrations, and laboratory exercises to facilitate active learning and skill development. Assess student progress through tests, practical evaluations, and project work; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and safety protocols during all training activities. Integrate modern instructional tools such as Blackboard learning management system and simulation software to enhance educational delivery. Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance, incorporate current technologies like programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automotive diagnostics, HVAC/R systems, and manufacturing processes. Mentor students on career pathways in aviation maintenance, emphasizing mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and specialized skills such as aircraft maintenance procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in aircraft maintenance or related fields such as automotive repair, HVAC/R, manufacturing, construction, or electrical work. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex systems including electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies. Prior classroom teaching or adult education experience is highly desirable; ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored for diverse learners. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for maintaining a safe training environment. Knowledge of industry-specific tools and systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Blackboard LMS platform, and diagnostic equipment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to students at varying skill levels. Certifications or licenses related to aircraft maintenance or relevant technical fields are preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged. $24,136.00 - $35,564.00 per year
