Job Description

Aircraft Electrical & Avionics Harness Technician At Midwest Panel Builders, we design and build premium avionics systems and custom instrument panels for experimental aircraft. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to help build complete aircraft electrical and avionics harness systems for a wide range of experimental aircraft platforms. Position Overview This position involves the fabrication and assembly of complete experimental aircraft electrical and avionics harness systems. Work includes routing and terminating wires, connector pinning, harness assembly, and panel wiring integration. Harnesses are built on production boards and jigs outside the aircraft, then shipped to customers ready for installation. Responsibilities Build complete aircraft electrical and avionics harness systems Route, label, and secure aircraft wiring to aerospace standards Crimp, pin, and insert wires into aviation-grade connectors Assemble and wire avionics panels and subassemblies Build harnesses using production boards, jigs and wiring diagrams Perform continuity testing and quality inspections on completed systems Maintain organized documentation and wiring records Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure system accuracy Qualifications Experience with electrical wiring, harness assembly, or avionics systems preferred Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Familiarity with hand tools, crimp tools, and connector assembly Experience with experimental or general aviation aircraft is a plus Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality standards Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate takes pride in precision workmanship and enjoys building high-end aviation systems.
