Job Summary:

M1 is looking for an Avionics Specialist T-6 Unscheduled

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Performs operational checks, bench checks, troubleshoots, and isolates malfunctions in complex
    aircraft avionics equipment.
  • Performs tasks independently with little or no supervision.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with senior avionics personnel as required.
  • Maintains aircraft avionics systems.
  • Performs operational checks of assigned systems.
  • Performs on and off equipment repairs of avionics systems and associated equipment and systems.
  • Performs calibration and repair of system components.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and is knowledgeable in CAMS documentation.
  • Must obtain all certifications required to perform the job requirements.
  • May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections; if no qualified volunteers,
    then most qualified person may be selected.
  • May be assigned to maintain TO files, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, or hazardous waste areas.
  • May be required to be qualified on different MDS aircraft.
  • Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
  • Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct.
  • Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base
    agencies.
  • Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel.
  • When assigned to a Sortie Generation Flight (SGF), required to be qualified in APG activities.
  • Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required.
  • Receives cross-utilization training and will be qualified to perform those maintenance task
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Must possess an in-depth knowledge of advanced electronic principles and circuit analysis.
  • Must be able to trace signal flow, understand interrelationships of circuits, interpret waveforms and
    voltages.
  • Modifies equipment using engineering changes.
  • Designs and builds test benches and equipment.
  • Must be able to use complex test equipment such as continuous wave and pulse generators, time domain
    reflectometers, multi-trace oscilloscopes, frequency counters, multi-meters and deviation meters, and
    specialized test equipment.

  • The ability to interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings and charts of assigned systems is
    required.
  • A working knowledge of technical orders and maintenance forms is required.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
  • Specialized courses in electronic theory aircraft avionics, com/nav systems, or instrument systems are
    required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • A minimum of two years recent experience in the repair of aircraft avionics, com/nav, or instrument
    systems is required.
  • When assigned to SGF, recent experience for assigned aircraft is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license and may be required to obtain and
    maintain a class CDL.
