Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR-9) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ . This is a full-time on-site position at the William J Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTCAA). The ASR-9 is a radar system used by the FAA to monitor air traffic and weather conditions in the United States. The ASR-9 is a primary surveillance radar that provides air traffic controllers with information on aircraft position and weather. Citizenship Requirement All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. Be a US Citizen. Have resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years. RealID Driver's License/ID or current US Passport. Relocation Requirement Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Education & Experience Requirement All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate. Associates degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or similar science/technology curriculum is required. OR A Certificate of Training in a two year Electronics Engineering Technology or similar curriculum from a community college, vocational education school, military training, or FAA Academy may be substituted in lieu of the associate of science degree, depending on other qualifications and experience. OR A minimum of 4 years of experience in this specific technical area that is pertinent to the support of the National Airspace System (NAS). Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience is required. NAS experience is desired. Required Skills Practical knowledge of engineering principles and engineering theory.
