Job Description

Position Description:
Instructional Development:
Assist the department head with new course development and curriculum changes; develops and maintains course documentation; reviews and selects textbooks for courses in subject areas; maintains audio-visual and other materials for courses taught; is organized and well prepared for class; schedules class and lab time effectively.
Teaching Performance:
Use current LMS, provide students with course syllabus, grading, and attendance policies, and other relevant information the first day of class; relate instructional materials, discussions, and other course activities to course objectives; demonstrate effective interaction skills; utilize a variety of teaching methods including technology; use practical examples and illustrations; pace the instruction over the term; provide students with timely tests; return test results in a timely manner; relate tests to course objectives; follow department and college grading policies.
Student Advisement:
Maintain required office hours; publicize office hours and availability; refer students to persons for appropriate assistance; maintain appropriate records according to State, Federal, and college regulations, meet with students in a timely manner.
Recruiting:
Assist with recruitment as required; assist with job/transfer placement or recommendations as required; cooperate with or participate in projects/activities of other instructional and support areas in fulfillment of the college's mission; serve effectively on college/community committees/teams; support continuing education efforts of the college. Additional duties to support program success, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
An FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate, an associate degree, and four years' work experience in Airframe and/or PowerPlant related areas; most recent work experience must meet the requirements listed in
FAR 65-83.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field or an Associate degree in aircraft maintenance technology or a related field and demonstrated competencies in aircraft maintenance and an FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate.,four years' work experience in Airframe and PowerPlant related areas, and electrical and/or avionics; most recent work experience must meet the requirements listed in
FAR 65-83.
Graduate of a FAA approved Part 147 aviation maintenance technical school.
