Job Title:
Avionics Technician Job Description This role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics systems on general aviation aircraft such as King Air, Cessna 170, and similar small aircraft. You will work with a variety of avionics platforms and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality installations and modifications. Responsibilities Install avionics systems on general aviation aircraft, including King Air, Cessna 170, and similar small aircraft. Perform avionics installations from start to finish, including mounting equipment, routing and securing wiring, and integrating systems with existing aircraft components. Troubleshoot avionics systems and components to diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement actions. Repair and adjust avionics equipment to restore proper function and ensure compliance with aviation standards. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals to complete accurate and compliant installations. Assist with aircraft modifications involving avionics and electrical systems, including upgrades and retrofits. Support aircraft maintenance activities related to avionics, ensuring systems operate safely and reliably. Work with aviation electronics and avionics systems from manufacturers such as Garmin, Honeywell, Avidyne, and S-TEC, as applicable. Verify proper operation of installed avionics systems through functional testing and documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the hangar environment. Essential Skills Hands-on experience installing avionics systems on general aviation aircraft such as King Air, Cessna 170, or similar small aircraft. Proficiency in avionics installation, including mounting equipment, routing wiring, and integrating systems. Strong avionics troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve system issues. Experience with aircraft maintenance and aircraft modification related to avionics and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience working with avionics systems and aviation electronics in a hangar or similar environment. General aviation (GA) experience working on small aircraft. Experience with Garmin avionics systems. Experience with Honeywell avionics systems. Familiarity with avionics harnesses and electrical wiring practices in aircraft. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with avionics systems such as Garmin, Avidyne, and S-TEC. Background in avionics repair, including component-level troubleshooting and replacement. Experience working on jet and other aviation platforms in addition to general aviation aircraft. Exposure to a variety of avionics installations, including upgrades and retrofits. Knowledge of best practices for avionics and electrical installations in aviation environments. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a hangar at Denton Airport, working primarily on general aviation aircraft. You will work a day shift schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment involves hands-on work around aircraft, avionics equipment, and electrical systems, requiring attention to safety and detail in an active aviation facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denton, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
